PMM Leadership Roundtable: Pick a side on annual planning
Every fall, PMM leaders run into the same problems: budgets and headcount are set while the product roadmap is unfinished or missing, and the rest of marketing starts planning campaigns and events before PMM has a chance to weigh in. This is a roundtable, not a session. No slides, no panel, no polite agreement. Tom offers two opposing positions on each of three planning debates, each table picks a side and argues it, and the room compares where it landed. It's built for PMM leaders and those working toward the role, with a genuine expectation that everyone contributes rather than watches. What is said in the room stays in it, so bring the version of your planning problems you wouldn't post on LinkedIn. On the table: - Should PMM own a huge budget, or no budget? - Should PMM plug into marketing's calendar, or should marketing plan around PMM's launches? - Should PMM headcount grow with the product portfolio, or with the markets the company sells into?
